Welcome to Interactive Approaches!
This course investigates the scope and sequence of instructional programming with methods and strategies used in teaching the individual students' major and minor disciplines. The course will focus on small group strategies, multiple intelligences, interdisciplinary and project based strategies, as well as types of assessment. There will be a special emphasis on developing materials and resources related to the teaching of state curriculum requirements by the state of Nevada and California. Future teachers will develop a portfolio of resources.
I am Toby Wiedenmayer, and have been teaching for Sierra Nevada College for the past two semesters as an adjunct professor. My full time job is as the Dean of Academics and Special Education case manager for Rainshadow Community Charter High School. I started at Rainshadow in 2004, upon completion of my student teaching there through Sierra Nevada College. I have experience working at the high school level, with focuses on special education, English, and art. I also have experience working with challenging populations. I look forward to working with you this semester to develop a portfolio that you can continue to use throughout your teaching.
